Fresh

She's fresh.

Like the sparkling sea.

Waiting like the boat to be released out to the sea.

THE SEA! the sea! the open sea!
The blue, the fresh, the ever free...

Art & Alberto

via Savvy Home  origin: Alberto Pinto

Today's browsing result.
I love the huge art on the wall. And the messiness on the table.
Looks cozy and a home to me.

Alberto Pinto (1945-2012) was a photographer and interior designer based in Paris.
He designed the interiors of apartments, corporations, hotels, yachts, and jets.
He had a home collection of his own and collaborated with many manufacturers.

Vanity Fair: Gatsby Glamour

COURTESY OF THE CONDÉ NAST STORE.

From Vanity Fair - check the whole slideshow HERE

"Vanity Fair tribute to Fitzgerald’s time-honored tale and the decade it immortalized,
replete with vintage V.F. covers and imagery, plus archival shots from Vogue and GQ."

I still haven't seen the movie. Hoping to go this weekend...

Art Deco Bath

I don't know if I could ever step out of this bath.
I could live on grapes and wine and just soak in here for ever.
Or - if not that choice - I could just live on the beauty of all this.

Ciao,

 Bette.

The painterly detail of an enlarged classic portrait creates a dramatic and striking bathroom scene.
The copper bath is from Catchpole & Rye.
The wall panel is an enlarged section of Manon Balletti by Jean-Marc Nattier from The National Gallery Collection

Ralph Lauren 2013 - My 2nd Pick

Ralph Lauren at New York Fashion Week Fall 2013.

This is my 2nd dress post of this collection.
See the earlier blog post: Ralph Lauren 2013 - My one pick

I have been sailing years ago and I still love all the nautical stuff.
There is something so cool about this collection,
how it combines top fashion and very traditional nautical style.

The great thing is that she is also wearing this authentic sailor hat.
Originally it is from Greece and called a Fisherman's cap
but sailors (the real ones!) wear these.
My daughter (she's 17 and a bit of a hipster)
is also wearing one nowadays...

What a Day!

Picture: 50 Shades of Toast from Things Organized Neatly

Oh, what a day...

Woke up too late.
Burned the toast.
Spilled my coffee.
Dog was barking too much.
Went to get groceries, had no wallet.
Laptop was struggling.
My daughter was demanding.
My stomach was hurting.
Dropped a perfume bottle on the bathroom floor,
it went to all the places it shouldn't have.

It was cloudy.
The curse of Monday.

But Hey, around 7 pm the SUN started shining.
I noticed that nothing bad actually really happened.
Just every day little obstacles.
Nobody got hurt.
I am getting so gooooood with this positive thinking,
it scares me ;)

ps. This song came into my mind...

Oh, How I Would Love To Cook Here!

Photo by Christophe Rouffio on Maison & Déco

Oh, how I would love to cook here...
I can see myself coming from the farmer's market early in the morning
and bringing all the veggies and flowers home...
Simple but so full of life.

Sea Fever

I MUST go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a gray mist on the sea's face, and a gray dawn breaking.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way, where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.
